New Dawn, New Day
"When you get into a tight place and everything goes against you, till it seems as though you could not hang on a minute longer, never give up then, for that is just the place and time that the tide will turn."
- Harriet Beecher Stowe, was an American abolitionist and author.
Confession time again on the journey! Yesterday I sold my house, I got the news on base and I felt so sad that I started crying, I didn’t even realize the tears were flowing so much. Then I was like hmm ok I am in the middle of the base boo hooing! OMG!
She said to me I don’t know what you are crying for, maybe you think you lost something but just say thank you! Say thank you right now because if it’s a loss of something, it is clearing the way for something better. I just thought that it was one of the best pieces of wisdom that I heard in ages! Ego tripping about being a failure when I have an opportunity now to start again also I have every single thing that I need where I am right now!
So anyways I stopped crying and being a wet blanket and the day was going on I was still a little sad yet excited of the things to come. Then I got another piece of news about this guy I was chilling out with, getting to know, and coming out of my self imposed closed heart. We’ve been talking, hanging out for a while and we were was making plans for him to visit here, spend some time and tour the motherland. I was excited. So he told me yesterday just after the house story that things have changed, he now has a girlfriend! I was like hmm is this another case for me to say thank you? Let me say thank you anyway. So yesterday was one of those days of clearing out, freedom, gratitude and starting over.
So what did I learn today?
So things happen to test your faith and commitment which sometimes sucks! The quickest way to turn a bad situation into a blessing is to get excited! Yup get excited I said! Excitement is the opposite of anxiety I’m thinking about the knowledge and experience I am gaining, the stories I can tell, the people I can assist, the fact that I will know what to do if even I am in that situation again and this gets me excited! In any situation I believe I have the right, power and ability to choose my experience. Rather than slip into fear, resentment and anger I choose to get excited! Excited that its gonna come to an end ,that life is trusting me to do the right thing and I will do my best no matter what happens!!
New dawn. New Day. Perfect moment to embrace change.
Old habits are shelved
