The Art of Rediscovering yourself

Image
The art of rediscovering yourself over & over again - Amanda Perera As time goes by, we grow, we change, we evolve, we shift. The challenge for many of us is we resist the natural ebb and flow of change. We resist it due to fear, lack of control and uncertainty. Newsflash, despite you resisting change, there is no way it can be stopped. When we resist, it becomes tough to live our lives fully, joyously and peacefully. Get curious about yourself. Get curious about how you are evolving. Discover your new likes, new dislikes, encourage the newness or uniqueness of it all. This approach provides another perspective to living in fear due to uncertainty. We cannot escape uncertainty and so we must find a way to live with it minus all the anxiety that it inevitably will bring. Rediscovering yourself takes you out of a routine bringing about more excitement, joy and even opportunities in your life. Rediscovering yourself encourages courage, clarity, discipline and self belief. It is a w

Make Room For It

When something is familiar even if its no good for us, the mind has a tendency to hold on to it. If we do a reflection on our lives and how we live, most of what will come up is that we live our lives based on habits, familiarity, rituals and being in a comfort zone. Humans love control, we love certainty, all of which are huge illusions. We get into a routine. We train our brain to follow. We follow what was given from our families. We settle into a comfort. We look at what has been done by others. We take cues from society. We hold on to many of the sameness, the safety, the comfort, sometimes at our own expense. We slip into these habits and patterns because we are afraid of losing what we know. There is a saying "better the devil you know, than the devil you don't" suggesting that we take less risks, stay in our comfort zones and work with what is in front of us. There may be merit in keeping rituals and values passed down, the question that must be asked- are these

Life is always on time

I'm unlearning lack. I'm trusting in abundance. I'm unlearning scarcity. I'm trusting in abundance. this isn’t a new season, this is a new lifestyle. my luck won’t run out because it was never luck to begin with. this is a blessed life. a protected life. I'm believing in that. Iman Europe Yesterday, there was a nationwide wide blackout for almost twenty four hours. This impacted our ability to access internet, water and a few other public utilities. Initially when the power was cut, I thought, ok, no worries, this will be an hour max. I downed tools and decided to take a break waiting for the power to be restored. An hour turned into two. I began getting hungry. With no access to social media, I was not fully aware of what was going on in the outside world. After 3 hours passed, I got a call  from a friend saying that power will be out for at least a few more hours. I needed to get food. Jumped in the car and went food hunting. All the places I would usually go, w

Rest is Part of the Journey

Image
We ignore our bodies' need to rest and  in doing so we lose tough with our spirit. Our bodies know even when our minds do not. Nap Ministry   This past week I have been forced to rest. Why did it have to be forced?  When life is on, we tend to want to get things done, we want to get things right, we want to finish what we started, to close the deal, the deadlines, the urgency. In all of that, we neglect, forget and plain ole not think it is important. Until life says, slow down, back up, rest! I have learnt that  Rest is part of the Journey. Lest we forget, life is kind enough to shut us down to remind us, that process may not seem kind, it really is! We get the amber light before the red light. I took the time to rest and am truly happy that I did. Pay attention to life's traffic lights. Peace

Be Still and Know

Image
Get still (as still as you are able) and ask to have it revealed...believe that it can be revealed and some part of you knows. Don't be attached to what you think it will look like or how it will feel. You are having an intellectual conversation with yourself about an emotional/belief level blockage. The ego/intellect will actually keep you distracted from dropping in. Don't "think" about it...sit and wait for the answer. Be patient and allow it to come forward . Laura Rawlings 1. Be still and know the power of connection. 2. Be still and know that your light makes a difference. 3. Be still and know that you are seen and loved - there is nothing to prove. 4. Be still and know the power of your truth. 5. Let stillness come over you when noise fills your mind. 6. Stillness is not paralysis. 7. Stillness is the active pursuit of a mindful response to the inhumane and the unjust. 8. Stillness is fire and ice. 9. Stillness is peace at the edge. 10. Stillness is gratitude

The first person on the receiving end of your love should always be you

The first person on the receiving end of your love should always be you. Ebonee Davis It took me quite a while to recognize that everything starts within- everything. It starts with an idea, a feeling, a thought, a hunch. All of which are inside jobs. When I finally got the lesson, it became easier and easier to stop looking for external validation to push me forward. It also became easier to set and keep boundaries and most importantly for me, to let go, to stop wanting to control everything. Wanting to control everything around me was so exhausting, I have learnt that wanting to know everything was a survival technique. When I substituted wanting control for having faith and letting go of knowing it all, a peaceful and magical existence started emerging. I began noticing how much more fun it was to see things evolve and manifest without my interference. Love and Loving is also an inside job. Loving yourself starts with accepting that you are here as a manifestation of a divine

What Are You Giving Your Attention To?

Giving all of our attention to the unwanted aspects of our lives allows what we resist to persis t. Laura Rawlings My friends, you must have  heard me mention this before, today I felt guided to talk about it gain because I have been asking myself some questions. Do we pay attention to what we are thinking about, saying, watching on social media?  Are we in alignment with what we are thinking, saying and doing? When there is little or alignment, we confuse ourselves and we confuse the Universe. The Universe is waiting to fulfil our requests, our desires. It's like watching fitness videos and reels, all the while in our mind saying I ought to be working out yet making absolutely movement with our bodies and at the same time eating foods that is not nourishing to your body. There is no alignment in words, thoughts and action. Or we talk about and think about making a change to our life situation yet we continue to do the same things over and over expecting a different result.  I know

Journey to Gratitude

Image
2.2.22 All of it serves purpose. What a beautiful realization. Godis Oya Give thanks for it all is one of the most important lessons on my own Journey. Gratitude is the great multiplier. It multiplies not just blessings, it grows our awareness for what is beautiful around us, what is simply doing its thing and our awareness of what we take for granted. Make gratitude a ritual. Give thanks as a daily habit, part of your day. Slowly and surely you begin to see something like the sun rising as an opportunity to be grateful to be a part of the experience. There are many ways we can make gratitude a ritual and part of our daily lives. Formally, you can have a gratitude journal which guides you to write what you are grateful for on a daily basis. There is also a gratitude jar, everything that you are grateful for write it down and put in the jar, at the end of the month and year, open the jar and read it. Informally you can wake up daily and just say "Thank You" Thank you is a p
