Give it time

Relate to every circumstance in your life as something that has happened for the best, for it may be that your saddest experience will bring you your greatest asses, if you give time a chance to mellow your distress” Napoleon Hill  best selling author of Think and Grow Rick

Uganda is a land locked country bordered by countries that have or has been in conflict, there’s the DR Congo, South Sudan and Rwanda. As a result of this there are a number of “camps” set up with people from these countries fleeing or seeking a better life. A “camp” is literally a place where there are hundreds of displaced people protected either by an International agency or the army, there’s very very little amenities, there’s conflict within the camps, people who have lost their families and their body parts. Although many of the conflicts have subsided the camps remain they are now villages with children, animals and life in general. It is quite a sight! So with this in mind imagine coming from a “camp” to set up a successful international business?
I have the privilege to spend time with this phenomenal woman who came from an environment where the only thing that she had was “hope and a vision”. With that she faced the odds to develop one of the most successful projects in Uganda providing the hope she had for 900 other women farmers.

I asked her how you did it. She said “ there are no victims here, never see yourself as a victim, with the grace of God, faith and determination, all things are possible” It hasn’t been easy, there are many many challenges but she said “ I take strength from Lake Victoria, it’s never ending, always there, I said I will be like the lake, ever present”
I am relishing the opportunity to spend time and learn from her.
So what did I learn today?
Walk with your vision! If you don’t know what you want, you are most likely to take what is given. Walk with your vision! Your vision will open doors for you when you believe that you don’t have the key! Walk with your vision, if you don’t what are you brining to the table?
Walk with your vision! There are people who will believe in it and share a similar one and together you can create. As my good friend Maxine says “Create or Die” Know Your Worth. Pick a destination that allows you to stretch and grow beyond your comfort zone into a higher vision of the self you know right now.

Peace!!!
